[4/3/2012] - As you may have read, seen on TV or heard on the radio, Medco Health Solutions recently merged with Express Scripts.  However, there are no changes whatsoever in our prescription drug coverage.  Our plan of benefits and the Medco contact information (telephone numbers, web sites, etc.) all remain exactly as they had been.  Your Medco ID card remains 100% valid for retail and mail order prescriptions. Please contact the Welfare Fund at Option 4 should you have any questions about this matter. more

Important information regarding your health insurance
[3/29/2012] - We are pleased to announce that Empire BlueCross BlueShield and Westchester Medical Center have reached a new three year agreement effective 4/1/12.  Westchester Medical Center will now be in-network for all Empire commercial benefit plans.  This includes HMO, POS, PPO, EPO, and Total Blue plans. more

2010 Income Allocation & Administrative Charge
[6/20/2011] - For your information, the income allocation percentage was 4.2592% of the participant's average balance in 2010.  This average balance is determined by taking the four quarterly closing balances in 2010, adding them up and dividing by four.  This average balance is then multiplied by the percentage and the amount is debited to the participants' accounts. The administrative charge is $257.73 per participant and every account that can sustain the charge has had this amount deducted.  If an account had less than that amount, the charge was whatever amount the account could sustain.  The following members will not be charged at all; pensioners with a balance of $2,500 or less and deceased members with a balance greater than $10.00 more

In addition to Quest Labs, the following laboratories are now considered in-network: LabCorp, DIANON System, Centrex Clinical Labs, BioReference Labs, Enzo Clinical Labs and Sunrise Medical Labs. Updated Benefit Information - Security Benefit Fund and Supplemental Retirement Plan
[5/5/2010] - The Trustees have approved a second withdrawal from the Security Benefit Fund ("SBF") and the Supplemental Retirement Plan ("SRP") for the prevention of eviction or foreclosure of your principal residence. This means that you are now able to make up to two withdrawals from the SBF and or the SRP per calendar year. You must document that you are at least three months behind in your rent or mortgage. If you have already used this benefit in calendar year 2010, you are eligible for only one more this year. If you need additonal information, please call the Security Benefit Fund or the Pension department. more
